Straight out of Detroit, The Orbitsuns deliver a sound that’s equal parts Motor City rock and backroads soul. Fronted by Vinnie Dombroski, the unmistakable voice of Sponge (“Plowed,” “Molly (16 Candles)”), the band channels the spirit of Detroit blue-collar grit that is built to move a crowd.
What started as Dombroski’s side project in the late ‘90s quickly became its own force: a mix of tough-as-nails rock, Americana storytelling, and a whiskey-soaked honky-tonk groove. The lineup: Vinnie Dombroski (vocals, guitar), Jimmy Paluzzi (drums), Bob Hecker (bass), Jeremy “Leroy” Bilitz (guitar), and Liz Fornal (vocals). They are bringing raw energy and a deep chemistry that comes from years in the Detroit music trenches.
Their debut album Redneck Disco (Redneck Disco Revisited) introduced a band unafraid to blur lines between country rock, with standout tracks like “Long Line of Sinners,” “Haul Ass,” and a "Micro Dosing Do-si-doe.”
